The Montbel Design Contest kicks off with an unconventional and innovative project.

The Sculptural Restaurant Chair is a contest for young creative minds – students, freelancers and designers – sponsored by Montbel in conjunction with MetroQuality Milan as part of the first MetroQualiTask Design Contest.

The contest brief is to come up with a concept for an innovative seat using the shell as the structural element which reflects the brand’s philosophy. Applicants have until 30 June to submit their designs and get the chance to make a name for themselves with this renowned Italian company.

The contest, in its first year, embraces tradition while looking to the future and its intent is to anticipate market trends with an unconventional project that gives new meaning to four legs.
This is a new venture for Montbel which, an innovator since its inception, continues to attract new talent, giving them the space and opportunity to express themselves and make their mark.
